Education & Training

Internship - On The Job Training

National MD Billing’s internship program is an ideal way for interns to get their first taste of real-world knowledge and experience in the medical billing and coding industry. Our unique, one-of-a-kind internship program builds confidence by reinforcing basic and advance competencies and promotes research and analytical skills. Our program also gives potential employers an opportunity to see interns in action.

National MD Billing established its OJT internship program to help students of medical billing and coding degree and certificate programs qualify for a medical billing/coding job. The program is designed to provide our interns with an avenue to gain valuable work experience to add to their resumes, and help our interns find employment.

Each intern is assigned to one medical facility for a period of twelve months. Our medical facilities offer a wide variety of specialties, expanding interns’ skillsets and making them more marketable for follow-on employment.

Program Benefits

Interns gain valuable experience that will enhance their resume.

Interns learn real-world medical billing & coding skills, using state-of-the-art billing software, and working with a clearinghouse. Training is done in a small group or one-on-one supportive work environment.

Interns will work with medical facilities nationwide.

Each intern will be responsible for managing the billing and coding of one medical facility, giving potential employers an opportunity to observe the intern’s proficiency.

Upon successful completion of the program, each intern will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation for employment or job referral.

Upon successful completion of the program, interns may accept employment offers from their assigned medical facilities. (Please note: this is not a guarantee of employment).
